Volunteers from the Harriet Hancock Center Foundation

and the South Carolina Pride Movement, in conjunction

with researchers from the University of South Carolina,

are launching a needs assessment survey to learn more

about the LGBTQ population in South Carolina.

   To our knowledge, this is the only research study of

its kind ever conducted in South Carolina.

   This survey, which has been submitted to IRB approval

from the University of South Carolina, will be a web-based

survey made freely available to those LGBTQ folks living

in South Carolina starting in September 2009.  Additionally,

a pen-and-paper version of the survey will be administered

at the SC Pride Festival on September 12, 2009.
