About Famously Hot South Carolina Pride
Famously Hot South Carolina Pride is proud to celebrate 36 years of serving and uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community of South Carolina since 1989.
In 2012, SC Pride made a bold and transformative move to Main Street for our annual Pride Festival—ushering in a new era of visibility, growth, and community impact across the state. That decision marked a turning point in our history, with attendance rising from approximately 8,000 the prior year to more than 15,000. Since then, our event has continued to grow year after year, with attendance at our parade and festival surpassing 75,000 in recent years.
Most recently, official estimates from the City of Columbia placed our combined parade and festival attendance at nearly 100,000 people—making Famously Hot SC Pride the largest and longest-running Pride celebration in South Carolina, as well as the most attended FREE festival in the City of Columbia.
That’s what makes it Famously Hot.
Our 36th Year: Bigger, Bolder, Brighter
As we celebrate our 36th anniversary, Famously Hot SC Pride continues to expand what Pride looks like in South Carolina.
This year, we are proud to bring back our signature Nighttime “Get Lit” Street Party & Parade—Columbia’s only nighttime parade lighting up Main Street with color, energy, and celebration.
Following the parade, the celebration continues into Saturday’s Pride Festival, featuring a dynamic main stage lineup of top-tier talent, local entertainers, and community voices.
